Fiber-Optics for Healthcare
Welcome to the future of connectivity
RST Communications can offer access speeds and online collaboration so fast and so reliable that you never thought it possible.
The faster your speed -- two to three seconds per transmission of patient records -- the faster you'll transform your practice. You'll communicate with insurance companies, physicians and hospitals at speeds so fast that you will be able to put your time and attention where it should be, on your patients and on your practice.
Fiber-optic cable is new to Cleveland County, but it's been installed at other locations in the country. Here are some of the comments they've made in other locations:
"Right now if you attempted to transmit an MRI, CAT scan or X-ray to another hospital, the transfer could take half a day or more. Hospitals with pure fiber-optic connections will be able to transport the data much faster and with better resolution and fidelity. Doctors also will have quick access to massive databases, and hospitals will be able to quickly download multimedia materials. The advance of telepresence is especially important for rural areas that might not have local access to specialists and cutting-edge surgical techniques. It's a way to virtually bring the doctor to the patient, instead of physically transporting the patient to the doctor."
- Northern Illinois University Professor David Gunkel, Computer Communication Specialist
"Any time anything's slower when you're serving 65,000 employees, it affects all employees," Ms. Tuttle said. She added that fiber-optic cable means that we have "better services” and are better able "to serve more people." The ability to quickly and securely send patient records and other information over fiber optics convinced her hospital to build its remote facilities where they had fiber installed over locations limited by copper connections.
- Annie Tuttle of the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Loma Luma, CA
You'll be able to transform your practice, collaborate locally or globally and work with hospitals and other healthcare practitioners at speeds so fast you and your employees won't be able to keep up.
